Congratulations to Tsinghua International Blockchain Association (TIBA)’s KuoYeh Shen, Samuel Tang, Jinwoo Seong, Jia Yi Li and Sujie Tan on winning big at the Conflux Network’s first virtual hackathon, Hacking Decentralized Commerce, which was held from Nov. 2 to Nov. 23, in collaboration with Gitcoin.
Their platform, Polaris, came in first place in the Chainlink Powered Conflux Applications part of the competition, and third in the hackathon‘s Conflux DApp Mega Challenge.
Polaris is a decentralized, transparent, fair, no-loss lottery platform built on Conflux Network for low transaction fees to further reduce user expenses. The Aave protocol is used to generate interest which is distributed as prizes for no participant losses. Chainlink oracles are then used to integrate randomness and can be used to connect external APIs that provide sports results. The Conflux Network is the only state-endorsed public, permissionless blockchain project in China.
“For a future version of our product, we want to build more variety of no-loss lotteries, and what that means is people could put their money in as deposit and they won’t lose any money. They can withdraw the same amount of money out anytime they want, but they also get the chance to win more,” TIBA’s Samuel Tang said in Polaris’ presentation.
There two tracks in the hackathon. One focused on building new DApps and products for DeFi, NFTs, payments, marketplaces, and core infrastructure. The other was co-sponsored by Aave and Chainlink for the integration of the Conflux Network with partner technologies.
